Covid-19: Over 19 lakh healthcare workers vaccinated across India so far, says govt | India News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: India vaccinated over 19.5 lakh healthcare workers against Covid-19 in last ten days, with 3,34,679 beneficiaries receiving the jabs on Monday alone – the highest number of inoculations in a day so far, since the nationwide rollout of the vaccination drive on January 16.
With this, India is now barely a step away from crossing the benchmark of two million beneficiaries getting the doses.
Officials said the drive picked up pace in many states following the awareness drive launched by the government early last week which helped allaying fear and apprehensions about the safety of the vaccines.
Besides, the minor glitches in Co-WIN software were also addressed by the Centre as many additional vaccinators were trained alongside. The Centre also made enhancements on the Co-WIN platform to allow pre-registered beneficiaries to be vaccinated at a site even if they were not scheduled for the day.
While Karnataka tops the list with over 2.30 lakh beneficiaries getting the jabs, Odisha is the second highest with over 1.77 lakh beneficiaries inoculated against Covid-19 so far. Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Telangana and Haryana are the other seven states to have vaccinated more than one lakh beneficiaries in last 10 days.
A total of 348 adverse events after immunization were reported on Monday, most of which were minor events, an official said.
