Clubhouse app may come to Android soon – Times of India

The Android version of Clubhouse, the audio-only chat app by Alpha Exploration Co., is currently in the works and may come to the platform in the near future, as per a report by 9To5Google. To date, the app has only been an iOS-exclusive. Clubhouse cofounder Paul Davidson confirmed in an interview that an Android app for the currently popular social media app is the “top feature” in development.
The interview was hosted by journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin with Bill Gates and Paul Davidson. In the interview, Gates explained at one instance the reason why he didn’t use an iPhone.
He said: “Some of the Android manufacturers pre-install Microsoft software in a way that makes it easy for me. They’re more flexible about how the software connects up with the operating system. So that’s what I ended up getting used to.”
Davidson then added his own bit to the conversation by saying that a Clubhouse Android app is the “top feature” which means that the developers at the company are busy working on the Android version of the app.
To the unaware, Clubhouse is an invite-only app which means that anyone cannot chat with a person without the acceptance of the invite. As it is only audio-based, no texting is possible. Through Clubhouse, people can be invited to virtual rooms where they can hold discussions and talk on topics of common interest. The app has recently become quite popular on the iOS platform, especially after billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk announced that he would be dropping in to it.
