Nothing, the new venture by OnePlus’ co-founder Carl Pei, has appointed former Samsung executive Manu Sharma as vice-president and general manager of its India unit.
On the new appointment, Pei said, “Manu is an experienced business leader with deep knowledge and understanding of the consumer technology industry in India. With his proven track record and experience, he will play a pivotal role for our growth in India.”
In his new capacity, Sharma will overlook the regional product strategy, marketing and sales operations for the brand, as well as setting up the India office.

Prior to this, Sharma was working at Samsung till December 2020 as the Vice President — head of product strategy. He had worked in multiple roles in a almost 10 year stint at the South Korean tech giant.
To recall, Nothing was announced by Pei as his new consumer technology startup, which is headquartered in London. The startup is said to focus on developing smart and connected consumer electronics.
Earlier this month, Nothing raised $15 million in a Series A round led by Google Ventures (GV). The fundraising takes the total amount of financing Nothing has raised to over $22 million.

We plan to aggressively grow the company, in particular our R&D and design capabilities, to realize our mission of removing barriers between people and technology,” Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder of Nothing, had said in a statement.
