BJP has no right to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’: Uddhav Thackeray | India News – Times of India

MUMBAI: Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday lashed out at BJP and said that neither the country nor Maharashtra is BJP’s “private property”.
While speaking in Maharashtra assembly Thackeray said BJP’s parent body (RSS) did not participate in the freedom struggle and did not have the “right to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’”.
“If you (BJP) could not give justice to the common man then you have no right to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’,” he added.
“Petrol prices have reached to hundred-rupee while gas cylinders are heading towards the thousand-rupee mark. Thanks, at least, they have not increased the rate of bicycles,” Maharashtra CM said.
Referring to the closed-door meeting with Union home minister Amit Shah ahead of Lok Sabha polls 2019, Thackeray said, “The strategy about how to go ahead was discussed in a room, however you (Shah) ‘shamelessly’ denied outside. Yes, though it is an unparliamentary word I am using ‘shamelessly’ word for this. Is this your Hindutva? Is this your love towards late Sena Supremo Balasaheb Thackeray?”
