As confirmed earlier, a new BioShock game is in development. According to publisher 2K Games, a new gaming studio under 2K Games called Cloud Chamber will be working on the next iteration in the series. But, as a report by TechRadar said, the game could take years to come. The report was based upon an interview with Kerry Gilmore, who heads 2K Games
The first BioShock game titled simply ‘Bioshock’ was launched in the year 2007. It was followed by BioShock 2 in 2010. These two are the main games in the series and are set in the fictional underwater city of Rapture. While BioShock takes place in 1960, BioShock 2 is set in 1968.
A third game called BioShock Infinite was launched by Irrational Games in 2013 and is the latest game in the series yet. It takes place in 1912 and is set in the floating city of Columbia. The BioShock series is considered the spiritual successor to System Shock 2, a first-person action survival horror game that was launched in 1999.
