Big battery phones: An 8580mAh battery smartphone has arrived – Times of India


Technology brand Blackview has launched its BV6600 rugged smartphone with an 8580mAh battery. The phone is currently available online for $119.99 through the company’s website. The smartphone is selling at 40% off with the original price being$199.99.
Is it the biggest battery in a smartphone yet? Probably. With the 8580mAh battery, the smartphone offers a “network-off standby time up to 792 hrs and 4G/WiFi standby time up to 430 hrs”, as claimed by Blackview. The phone supports reverse charging and as such, could be used as a power bank too. It comes with a USB Type-C charging port.
Since the device is a rugged one, it comes with IP68 and IP69K rating and is MIL-STD-810G certified, being resistant to water, drops and shock. Blackview claims that the phone can withstand being submerged in fresh water up to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes.
To protect the phone in wet environments, the company has secured its internal parts with waterproof membranes and also provided an anti-deforming charging cap.
The phone comes in a metal frame and has got thickened rubber corners to protect it from fall damage. The company claims that the BV6600 is drop-proof up to 1.2 metres.

As for the major technical specifications, the BlackVIEWBV6600 smartphone sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The display comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone comes powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio A25 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and runs Android 10 OS. It offers 64GB of native storage that can be further expanded to 128GB via a microSD card.
