Asus ROG Academy: Journey begins for these gamers – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the finalists who will be participating in the first batch of India’s first virtual Academy program for gamers- ROG Academy. The company received registrations from over 2350 professionals and Asus ROG has selected its first batch of 6 finalists who will be trained for the next esports battle.
Among the chosen are, Aniket Laxman Jawkar (KRACKER) from Mumbai (Age: 32), Shaunak Mandar Joshi (SHAUNAK07) from Pune (Age: 18), Shashank Lele (PROD_) from Nagpur (Age: 27), Suraj Singh (GHOSTXD) from Chennai (Age: 19), Arijit Halder (R3KT3R) from Kalyani (Age: 20) and Hrishikesh (CRAZY_GAMER) from Mumbai (Age: 22).
The six finalists will receive the tournament ready gears to get trained during the course. They will also receive a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000/- for the duration of their training. Moreover, all the six finalists will get a Ex Gratia amount of Rs 100,000/ and a chance to represent the ASUS ROG in esports tournaments for the next three months.
The first session of the ROG Academy will focus on “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” as the official title. Each of the selected players will have a specific role in their team.
“esports is one of the fastest growing sectors across the globe and India is still quite nascent. ROG Academy is designed to provide a platform to young talented gamers to become full-fledged esports athletes,” company said in a statement.
