ASUS: Asus may be working on Zenfone 8 ‘Mini’ with 120Hz display – Times of India

Taiwanese tech company Asus may have a compact flagship smartphone in the works, as per a report by XDA Developers. Details regarding the upcoming smartphone from the company were leaked recently and the said device is believed to be a compact version of the Zenfone 8, likely to be called the Zenfone 8 Mini.
The device is codenamed “SAKE” and could feature a 5.92-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a 2400 x 1800 pixels resolution. It is expected to come equipped with a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor and a Sony IMX663 sensor, as information about these two sensors has only leaked online.
Two other devices with code names of “PICASSO” and “VODKA” have also leaked, believed to be variants of the Zenfone 8. The former is claimed to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel while details about the latter are not yet known. PICASSO is also rumoured to sport a similar camera setup as found in the Zenfone 7, with the exception of a 24MP sensor. Leaks suggest that the 24MP sensor is going to be the front camera. Asus, with Zenfone 6, had begun upping its camera game and is only expected to improve upon it.
All three devices are expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, which also powers Asus’ latest ROG Phone 5 series of gaming smartphones. As far as compact flagships go, there aren’t many around. If the rumours about a Zenfone 8 Mini phone are true, then it will be one of the few compact flagship phones in the market.
