Apple’s iCloud passwords Chrome extension released – Times of India
Apple has rolled out a new Chrome extension for Windows and Mac users that will allow them to store their passwords in iCloud Keychain.
The extension, called iCloud Passwords, is available now in the Chrome Web Store.
“iCloud Passwords is a Chrome extension for Windows users that allows you to use the same strong Safari passwords you create on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac when visiting websites in Chrome on your Windows PC. iCloud Passwords also saves any new passwords you create in Chrome to your iCloud Keychain so that it is also available on your Apple devices,” says the description of the web extension.
On its support page, Apple says that if users use two-factor authentication with their Apple ID and own a device running iOS 14 or later, they can save web passwords and “keep them up to date in Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and in Chrome on your PC.”
Recently, Apple released a new software update for iPhone and iPad users that brings the operating system to iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4 versions for iPhone 6s and later, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation).
This update comes with fixes for vulnerabilities that Apple notes “may have been actively exploited.”
