Apple may launch new iPad Pro with M1 chipset, Thunderbolt connector – Times of India
If rumours are to be believed then Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is set to launch a new lineup of iPads next month. A new report by Bloomberg sheds more lights on the new iPad rumours.
The report cites people familiar with the matter who reportedly revealed that Apple’s plan is to refresh its iPad Pro lineup but with a similar screen size to the existing models, which are 11-inch and 12.9-inch.
These upcoming iPads are said to come powered by a processor “that is on par with the faster M1 chip.” Further, they are also likely to include a Mini-LED screen for at least the larger model.
Another key feature about the upcoming iPads revealed in the report is that they may house Thunderbolt connectors, which could assist in connecting the iPad with external monitors, hard drives and other devices.
According to a report by 9to5Mac that cites reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is set to adopt mini-LED displays for the new iPad Pro.
According to the report, even though Kuo had said that Apple will first use the mini-LED display for the new iPad Pro, “other iPad models will switch to OLED displays, beginning with iPad Air next year.”
This is because the mini-LED display technology is expensive and the company plans to offer OLED displays to the cheaper iPads, which includes the iPad Air and the entry-level iPad.
