Now that it has been launched on Switch, the next destination for the game is expected to be on mobile devices. That the game will launch on Android and iOS has been confirmed, kind of, in that EA has been rumoured to be working on the mobile port for close to two years now, according to a transcript of EA’s earnings call obtained by financial advisory firm Motley Fool back in 2019. EA CEO Andrew Wilson had earlier said in a question regarding Apex Legends: “As I said earlier, we are looking at how to take the game to mobile and cross-play over time, and I also expect that this game will have tremendous value in Asia, and we’re in conversations about that.”
Now that PUBG Mobile is not there in India which happens to be one of the major markets in Asia for mobile gaming, and Fortnite and Call of Duty: Mobile have also had solid 2 years, EA has the opportunity to get mobile gamers interested in a new battle royale game. Apex Legends on Android and iOS, for starters, is expected to deliver better graphics than PUBG Mobile.
