Since yesterday speculation was rife that Akshay Kumar might give Kolkata a quick visit on Sunday for a political rally. However, the celebrated actor has now made it clear he’s is currently shooting in Mumbai and there’s no chance he will be in Kolkata to attend any political rally.

Speaking to an entertainment portal, Akshay reacted strongly when questioned about the rumours. He confirmed these speculations are baseless and false as he’s busy shooting in Mumbai. He is also shocked to see the way these rumours are circulating. Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a rally in Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground today.

On the work front, the popular actor, on Saturday, dropped an exciting update on his upcoming film ‘Ram Setu’. He shared a picture of himself during a script reading session with co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha and director Abhishek Sharma. “The team that preps together excels together! An extremely productive script reading session with the team of #RamSetu this evening. Can’t wait to begin filming this one,” he wrote. Resharing Akshay’s post, Nushrratt Bharuccha also wrote: “It’s an honor to be a part of #RamSetu and work with such a talented team. Let’s do this!” Meanwhile, Jacqueline Fernandez reshared the post with a caption: “Totally agree with you, Sir! Can’t wait for this one!”

Akshay also has films like Aanand L Rai‘s ‘Atrangi Re’, spy thriller ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and ‘Prithviraj’ in the coming months. ‘Atrangi Re’ and ‘Bell Bottom’ will hit the theatres this year.
