67th National Film Awards: Varun Sharma dedicates the big win of ‘Chhichhore’ to his ‘Kammo’ Sushant Singh Rajput; says ‘It will always remain special to me’ – Times of India


Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Chhichhore’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Varun Sharma, Shraddha Kapoor, Tahir Raj Bhasin and others bagged the Best Film Award (Hindi) at the 67th National Film Awards today. The entire team is celebrating the big win and missing the main member, Sushant.

ETimes got in touch with Varun Sharma, who essayed the role of Sexa and thoroughly entertained the audience, to get his response on the big win. He dedicated the award to his ‘Kammo’ Sushant. Varun’s character in the film used to call Sushant ‘Kammo’.

Reacting to the good news, Varun said, “’Chhichhore’ will always remain special to me in more than many ways. It’s a film that’s not only taught me a lot professionally but also personally. Above everything else, this one is for Kammo (Sushant).”

Soon after the awards were announced, Varun also took to social media and penned a note of gratitude. He wrote, “A Film which is truly special to all of us. A Film which is very close to our Hearts. This one is for you Kammo❤️✨” and tagged the entire team.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun is currently basking in the success of his recently released film ‘Roohi’ which also stars Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. Despite Covid-19, the film managed to perform well at the box office. Varun will be next seen in ‘Cirkus’ with Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde.
